“Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
“Until not you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” Jesus in John 16:22-24 (NKJV)
Sometimes I laugh, and sometimes I only realize I have joy as an afterthought. To me, joy is a by-product of trusting and resting in the Lord. Though chasing it doesn’t seem to work, lol.
Psalm 30: 5, 11-12:
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”
Psalm 16:11, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
