Rich Ham Bone Soup Recipe

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge.”    1 Corinthians 1:4-5

  • 1 Ham Bone*
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Potatoes, cubed
  •  1 Carrot, cubed
  • 1/2 Cup Dry Navy Beans
  • 1 Teaspoon Rosemary
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sage
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 4.5 Cups water

*After you’re finished carving a ham, wrap and refrigerate the bone with plenty of meat left on, till you’re ready to prepare the soup (not longer than a day or two).

Add all ingredients to a large soup pot with a lid, adding the water just covering everything.  Bring to a boil, lower heat, keep covered and skim off the foam periodically and stir, simmer 8 hours, discard bone.

The tender meat with a surprisingly rich taste, falls off the bone.
