Luke 15:25, “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.”
Vs. 29 “So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.”
You get reminded of the Pharisees here, they compared themselves with Jesus who didn’t go to seminary or whatever, they criticized Him for breaking the Sabbath laws, yet all sons of Abraham, Jesus descendant of King David, born in Bethlehem. Their righteousness was from abiding in external rules. Sometimes I’ve seen myself, judging and being judged by my performance in church. Pastor Prince warns of incorrectly mixing law and grace, it can be strange for Holy Spirit churches to turn back to man made rules and hierarchy.
