Why Was The Fragrant Oil Not Sold?

When Judas criticized Mary for using expensive oil on Him!!!  King Jesus

John 12:3-7

Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to betray Him,  said, “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?” Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.

Therefore Jesus said, Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.”

Judas’ first thought was to money … Cold hard cash, he missed the true revelation of Lord Jesus, he realized too late Who He really is.

1 Timothy 6:9 (NIV) BibleHub “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.”

Song 8:6,7 (TheMSG) Biblestudytools

Hang my locket around your neck, wear my ring on your finger. Love is invincible facing danger and death. Passion laughs at the terrors of hell. The fire of love stops at nothing – it sweeps everything before it.

Flood waters can’t drown love, torrents of rain can’t put it out. Love can’t be bought, love can’t be sold – it’s not to be found in the marketplace.
