“It’s A Spirit,”

… a Minister friend told me when I related an acquaintance’s trouble reading a certain Bible version.

“Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devises.”

2 Corinthians 2:11

There’s also the people who fall asleep when reading the Bible. In deliverance training, we are taught the person gets ‘sleepy’ when the evil spirit is in control.

“But He turned and rebuked them and said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.’ And they went to another village.”                            Jesus to His disciples in Luke 9:55-56

“It’s a spirit,” I told my friend regarding her friend’s deep depression, based on Derek Prince‘s teaching of Isaiah 61:3, “To proclaim…the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”  He says it can also be a familiar spirit, passed through family lines.

“You shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit”.   Acts 1:6
